Common Name: Anchor Moss, Vesicularia

Anchor Moss is a very densely ramified, bushy moss with a soft, delicate texture, similar to needles of a pine tree. Its dense stems are broad and shoot out at nearly right angles. Planting moss in the aquarium foreground or midground provides compact softness, especially in smaller tanks. As one of the lighter-colored green aquarium mosses, it tends to brightly stand out and add contrast to any brown or grey surfaces.

This aquatic moss can grow in both emersed and submerged conditions, and attaches well to substrate, driftwood, or rocks. While it's known to grow slowly, Anchor Moss has a wide range of light tolerance. The greater the light, the darker the moss will grow.

Notes:

  • Aquarium moss is extremely hardy and will survive in a wide range of aquarium parameters.
  • Please note that most moss species can contain brown bits, and while suitable for low tech tanks, CO2 injection will yield better growth and coloration.
  • Do not make drastic changes to the aquarium. Unstable parameters will result in melt and rotting of the aquarium plant.
  • CO2 injection and quality aquarium soil will yield better growth.
  • Please research appropriately to ensure your plant thrives.
